Principal's Message, 10/13/19

Tuesday, October 15, 2019 - 2:29pm

We had great participation in our Fall Walk and Roll Week! At the school wide assembly, we discussed the importance of exercise, reduced traffic and clean air. We had great results finding alternate forms of transportation besides single car use. The first, second, and third place winners (below) will hold on to the coveted "Golden Sneaker Awards" until our Spring Walk and Roll event:
* 1st place: Room 15 (Rudd) 97.4% (This is incredible!!)
* 2nd place: Room 8 (Wright) 86.8%
* 3rd place: Room 13 (Ando) 85.9%

You may have noticed a new sign in the Imagination Garden. This year, we've noticed more students playing in this area along Addison Ave. after primary dismissal.
Classes are still in session for rooms 10-12 that face the Imagination Garden so please supervise students
between 2:20-2:45pm and monitor the noise level in this area until intermediate dismissal at 2:45pm.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the Addison Adult Party & Auction on Sat, Oct 19 at Lucie Stern Community Center. This is our largest social gathering for our community and it is a great excuse for the adults to have a night out - you can still RSVP using this link.

I hope everyone enjoyed their three-day weekend. Our teachers, special education aide, specialists, and I attended district-wide professional development on Friday. We had the opportunity to sign up for a variety of classes that inspired us to consider our practices and set new goals!
