Construction Update: November 14, 2018

Wednesday, November 14, 2018 - 6:41pm

Below is this week’s update on construction progress at Addison:

Building 1:  Under-slab work is completed, both electrical and plumbing, rock base placed, vapor barrier has been placed. Reinforcing steel has been inspected and placement will be installed Thursday thru Monday. Upon structural inspection passing, concrete will scheduled. The slab on grade pour will be very similar to the foundation pour with some periodic truck traffic entering and leaving the site, but should only be about half the number of trucks as last time.

Site Utilities: The District has worked out an agreement with the City to do all three utility tie-ins within Webster Ave. ‘No Parking’ signs have gone up on Webster for 11/6 through 11/23. The City will provide us a schedule for their work some time before Thanksgiving. Additionally, Sausal has directed their plumbing firm to perform the on-site gas line installation. Work began Tuesday and we expect gas service will be ready for test by Thursday, and will resume gas service to the campus sometime next week just before Thanksgiving.

The AKC portables are nearly complete with the paving at the ramps late this week, and railings and fire alarm work are wrapping up next week. The buildings will be scheduled for certification by PACCC once the sewer connection is complete, hopefully after Thanksgiving break. At the meeting last week with the neighbors and District’s arborist, it was decided come back with several options to look at for potential solutions to screening of the portables along Lincoln. The next meeting on Monday, she will have some options to look at with the neighbors for their review and feedback.
