Construction Update: June 19, 2018

Tuesday, June 19, 2018 - 6:22am

A quick update on the construction progress for this week, and what to expect the next week around the construction site at Addison:

  1. The MP building has been demolished, which went down in about two hours last Wednesday. Debris was separated and hauled off site Thursday and Friday, and the contractor has begun removal of the concrete footings.  This should be done by tomorrow, so things should begin to quiet down on site for awhile.
  2. After demolition is completed this week, a survey crew will be on site Monday and Tuesday next week (June 25-26) to stake grades and utility runs.
  3. The contractor will begin working on site demolition (asphalt paving) next Wednesday, June 27th, and continue working on preparing the pads for the Kids’ Club portables along Lincoln for the remainder of the week.
  4. Utility installations for the new building and the Kids’ Club will begin the week of July 2. Utility work within the street will be done by the City, which will likely be scheduled for later this summer.
  5. The Day Care portables design has been approved by DSA last Friday and drawings have been sent to Williams/Scotsman. Once an agreement is in place, they can begin assembling the portables in their plant. This work is anticipated to take 3 to 4 weeks.
