Construction Update: December 4, 2018

Tuesday, December 4, 2018 - 3:29pm

Below is this week’s update on construction progress at Addison:

Building 1:  Forming of wall curbs has begun, and they are scheduled to be poured on Monday, December 10. Installation of sill plates on the curbs will follow. Structural steel fabrication is in progress, with steel erection scheduled to begin in mid-January.

Building 2: Work will begin on grading the pad for the MP building once the smaller old AKC portable is removed from the site.

Site Utilities: The sewer line lateral was installed by the City last Thursday and Sausal Construction completed the tie-in on Friday. The sewer and gas line work are now complete. Fire water service work will occur next spring.

The AKC portables are complete. The buildings will be signed off by the Fire Marshal today, and the state certification walkthrough is scheduled for Monday, December 10. If approved, demolition of the old AKC portables can commence next Tuesday.

The District’s arborist has put together a planting plan along Lincoln Street, and staff will get final confirmation of the plan during our next meeting on December 17th. AKC building paint colors have been mocked up and approved, so painting will take place in the next week, weather permitting. Roof treatment options are still being discussed.
