Construction Update: December 12, 2018

Sunday, December 16, 2018 - 2:14pm

This week’s update on construction progress at Addison:

Building 1:  Forming of wall curbs is in progress, and the toilet carriers are installed. The curbs are scheduled to be poured on Friday, December 14.  Installation of sill plates on the curbs will follow. Structural steel fabrication is in progress, with steel delivery and erection scheduled to begin in mid-January.

Building 2: Work will begin on grading the pad for the MP building once the smaller AKC portable is removed from the site.

The AKC portables are complete. The buildings have been signed off by the City’s Fire Marshal, so we are now just waiting for the certification walkthrough to be scheduled by the state.  Demolition of the old AKC portables cannot begin until the new AKC facility is opened.

The District’s arborist has put together a planting plan along Lincoln Street, and staff will get final confirmation of the plan during our next meeting on December 17th. AKC building paint colors have been mocked up and approved, so painting will take place over winter break, weather permitting. Roof treatment options are still being discussed.
