Staffing Updates/ Progress Reports/ Happy Last Day!
Dear Addison Families,
I'm very excited to share that we have completed the hiring for our 1st grade teacher and Secretary! Therefore, all positions have been filled for 2022-23 with the exception of a 1st grade Aide. Please join me in welcoming:
1st Grade Teacher:Hi! My name is Miranda Erikson and I'm excited to be joining the 1st grade team next year at Addison. I grew up in a small town called Boulder Creek in the Santa Cruz Mountains. After getting my teaching credentials I was able to participate in the incredible adventure of teaching English in Thailand. When I came back to California I taught 1st grade before moving to PAUSD last school year (currently working at Escondido). I'm looking forward to get to know the students and the wonderful Addison community!
Secretary: Melinda Zschietzschmann-My name is Melinda Zschietzschmann (pronounced Cheech-man). I am German American and hold a BA in German Literature from UMKC. Our family has lived in Palo Alto for 7 years. I have a son, Joshua, and a daughter, Olivia and they both attended PAUSD schools. I am originally from Kansas City, MO but have lived on the west coast since 1996. My interests include traveling, hiking, discovering new recipes and drinking good wine. I enjoy running 5K's and coached my daughter's Girls on the Run team at Duveneck. I am definitely a dog person, nothing makes me happier than walking my (almost toothless!) pug Ginger, except possibly a really good Americano. I am very excited to be joining Addison and look forward to meeting everyone!
The staffing updates regarding our new 3rd grade teacher and Clerk were sent in previous communications.
Student progress reports will be available to view online tomorrow at 3pm. If you need a refresher regarding how to access the progress reports, please see here.
Finally, we had a beautiful last day of school. It was so wonderful to have our entire school in attendance for our Promotion where all students were acknowledged as they transition in to the next grade level. At the ceremony, I shared that my tenure at Addison has been the highlight of my twenty-three year career because of the people I've interacted with which include staff, parents, and students. I am so grateful that everyday I've had the opportunity to expand my thinking and grow my skills because I've welcomed many people in to my life that come from different cultures, backgrounds and life experiences who are willing to share their authentic selves. Thank you for joining me on this journey; I will always think of you fondly and wish you the best in the years ahead.
