Principal's Message, 4/9/2017

Monday, April 10, 2017 - 10:04am

Dear Addison Families, I hope you had an enjoyable Spring Break! I took the girls on a great Arizona adventure visiting Sedona, Flagstaff, Page, and the Grand Canyon. We had an amazing time and now have some ideas for our Inquiry Fair projects due at the end of the month.

Thank you for the emails regarding the shade structure that went down over the lunch tables this past week. I went to school this morning to check it out. I was able to connect with our Maintenance Department and they have collected the parts and plan to come to school with a scissor lift tomorrow morning to fix it. If for some reason it cannot be fixed, we will practice our Life skill of "flexibility" and I'll make an alternate plan of where to eat for lunch.

I may not see you as much on campus this week as I have a half-day district meeting on Tuesday, will be in Coloma on Thursday, and at a Professional Development Training on Friday. Happily, I have two Admin Designees who support me when I'm out, Marissa Tessman and Rita Rodriguez.

Our 4th graders will attend Coloma this Wednesday through Friday and often say this trip is the highlight of their Addison experience. Please remember if you have a 4th grader to drop him/ her off at 7:45am on Wednesday morning. Also, 5th grade parents, please join me at Fairmeadow School on Tuesday evening at 5:30pm to learn
about the Health Connected Puberty Program PAUSD has adopted this year. The 5th graders will participate in this curriculum the week of May 8th.

Things will move quickly through this last part of the year but we have many things to look forward to including the Used Book Sale, singing at the Giants game, Field Day, 5th grade talent show and Promotion and various field trips. I hope you will be able to participate in some of these fun events!

Fondly,
Amanda Boyce
